Emelia Holden is a 21-year-old waitress at a Vinnie Van Go Go’s restaurant in Savannah, Georgia. She was just trying to do her job when a man grabbed her behind. However, her reaction is something to be admired. She turned around, head-locked him and then body-slammed him to the wall and into a serving trolley.
The name of the alleged groper is Ryan Cherwinski, and he was arrested the next day by the local police and put into the custody of Chatham County Sheriff’s Department. He reportedly had dinner at the restaurant alongside his partner and their two infant daughters.
The man has been released on bail after spending two nights in jail with charges of s*xual battery.
Holden spoke out about the incident, saying that she didn’t even give it much thought. She said:
“I just did it. I didn’t even know I could do that. I don’t care who you are. You have no right to disrespect me.
“I didn’t even realize that I took him down the way I did until I saw the video afterward.”
Besides taking the creep down, Holden also gave him a verbal “lecture” in front of everyone at the restaurant before calling the police.
In another interview, Holden said that she just did what she felt was best. The cops immediately arrested the man after they saw the CCTV footage, and she adds that it was nice seeing him in handcuffs.
She concluded by saying that all that she wants from her experiences is for women to know that it’s OK to stand up for themselves.
“You have every right to wear what you want and you most certainly have every right to defend yourself.”
