Kayleigh Snaith found out the hard way that teenagers can be cruel when she became pregnant at the age of 13.
Her classmates were telling her that she ‘ruined her life’ and that it was ‘disgusting’, but she managed to challenge all the comments by saying that becoming a mother made her a happier and a better person.
Kayleigh posted photos of her with her two-year-old daughter before heading to prom this week, and the girl was also dressed up in a tiny formal dress. The young mother tried to hide her pregnancy from her parents and teachers for the six months as she was terrified how would they react, but the parents supported her decision and helped her prepare for the baby arrival.
Harley was born on May 6, 2016, and her mom says that she is a beautiful, cheeky and happy little girl. She adds that she is proud to be her mother, and she will never regret or be ashamed for having her.
Kayleigh went back as a full-time student only four weeks after giving birth, because she was motivated to provide a good life for her daughter. She finished with seven GCSEs, which takes a serious commitment.
As of September, Kayleigh will study music at a college. She says that she wanted to take her daughter to her prom and get her all dressed up because she wanted to show her that she is a princess in her eyes – and she will always be.
The young mother admits that raising a child while studying wasn’t easy, as she had to have to power through sleepless nights and exams at the same time. However, she hopes that her daughter will grow up knowing that she deserves the best and she will never settle for anything or anyone that makes her unhappy.
Also, she wanted to show everyone who thought she would never make it through school after giving birth that she did it! She is celebrating her graduation alongside her daughter!
