Mother Swapped Beds So Her Husband Could Abuse Their Daughter And ‘Get It Out Of His System’
A woman spoke out about how her own mother allowed her father to s*xually abuse her when she was a child over a period of six years!
The victim experienced abuse in every manner that could be imagined as a child in the late 1970s and early 1980s, said Judge John Coker of the Townsville District Court.
According to police prosecutor Andrew Walklate, the mother knowingly let the father of the girl abuse her hundreds of times between the ages of 10 and 16.
The mother even agreed to swap beds with her daughter for one week during this period so the father could “get it out of his system”.
Mr. Walklate said that when the complainant was about 15 years old, the defendant swapped bedrooms with the complainant for a week in order to facilitate the s*xual activity taking place.
‘The complainant would walk past the defendant in the hallway as she was carrying her pillow.’
The mother realized that the abuse has been taking place early on, and she had discussed it with both the father and the girl. She once asked a local GP for an advice, but was told to ignore the situation. Judge Cooker called the advice ‘horrendous’.
The victim said in her statement that the mother’s compliance was just as hurtful as her father’s actions.
The abuse stopped after the child’s grandfather intervened.
The mother’s representative said that she had a ‘great deal of remorse for what she had done’.
The mother pleaded guilty to incest and permitting the abuse of a child under 16.
Judge Cooker took the woman’s age of 72 into account and the lack of criminal history, so he sentenced her to two years imprisonment to be suspended after four months.
